The Training Programme

C Class Rigid & C+E Articulated Vehicle
The current legal requirement is that you must complete your C class rigid licence before progressing to complete your C+E Articulated Vehicle licence.
You will need to be in possession of a provisional licence. If you have not got a provisional licence it is a straightforward procedure to apply for one from the DVLA in Swansea. You will need to obtain a medical certificate from your Doctor, and fill in all the appropriate forms. We can send you copies of the forms that you require upon request- just contact us.
Prior to your training course commencing with Silver Fox we will need to assess your current driving ability to help us determine the number of days training that you will require to obtain your licence. You will drive the appropriate LGV for one hour under the supervision of a Silver Fox instructor, who will assess your ability and also answer any questions that you may have in the subsequent debrief.
The theory test is now also a statutory requirement to be taken as part of the LGV driving course. Prior to undertaking your practical course with Silver Fox you must complete the theory test. All the questions on the theory test are multiple choices. You have a choice of two test centres, either Leicester or Coventry. If you suffer from any disabilities, these will be taken in to account. Please inform the relevant test centre of any disability that you have. Please remember to also take proof of your identity with you when you sit the theory test.
You can purchase a book to help you to revise for your theory test through our secure online shop.
As soon as you have completed all of the above you can commence your training with us. You can book your course with Silver Fox through our secure online shop. Your training will be undertaken in the area in which your test will be taken, and we will also arrange your driving test for you.
